Chipping Sodbury Mop Fair
The Mop Fair is held twice a year in March and September, specific dates can be seen below.
Over the past few years the Council has tried different layouts and road closures to try and minimise the inconvenience caused to residents and traders. In September 2008 a Fair was held which was found to be successful by the Town Council, Emergency Services, Health & Safety Executive and Resident and Trader group representatives.
The Council has agreed to repeat the same layout for the Mop Fairs on 19th & 20th March and 24th & 25th September 2010. The road closure details for this Mop Fair are as follows:-
Broad Street - To be closed from 07.00 on the Friday until 24.00 on the Saturday from junction with Hounds Road to junction with Horse Street.
Wickwar Road - To be closed between the hours of 17.00 & 23.00 On the Friday and 13.00 - 24.00 on the Saturday from junction with High Street to mini roundabout at Barnhill Road.
High Street - To be closed between the hours of 17.00 & 23.00on the Friday and 13.00 - 24.00 on the Saturday from westerly point of entrance to Police Station to junction with Broad Street.
Hounds Road - To be closed between the hours of 17.00 & 23.00 on the Friday and 13.00 - 24.00 on the Saturday from junction with Broad Street to junction with Hounds Close.
Council members hope these will be successful fairs for all involved and will welcome comments from residents and traders after the event.
